A Balance

I think it's ok to want to improve our standard of living and to be ambitious. Even the Bible encourages us to be industrious and to have an excellent work ethic- but it also encourages us to have rest rhythms.

With that being said, I think it is detrimental for us to get to a point where we idolize work, money, status and comfort- I think it is detrimental when we get to a point where we value these things above God, above obeying God's Word and above treating people with respect and dignity.

It becomes detrimental when we let these things rule and control our hearts,

It becomes detrimental when we love money- for the love of money, not money itself but the love of money is the root of all evil.
